This little art factory was founded in 1998 at the University of Minnesota in the sleepy winter town of Duluth. I took a course in figure anatomy drawing. One morning I showed up to class late and without my required art supplies for the day's assignment. The teacher had no sympathy and expected me to finish the task at hand with whatever I could find there in the classroom.
Resigned to my fate, I grabbed a humble mechanical pencil from a drawer in the back of the classroom and started to sketch the plastic skeleton arm in front of me. Little did I know, that moment would open a world of creation that brings us all together twenty years later. Below are pictures of the drawings from that day, including the bones that started it all.
Please enjoy your stay and keep coming back for updates, appearance announcements and the inevitable print shop with fun Scratchmerch.
